What You'll Do
As a Commercial Electrician Apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced electricians and foremen on commercial construction projects throughout the Houston area.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the installation of conduit, wire, and electrical equipment
- Measuring, cutting, bending, and installing conduit
- Pulling wire and assisting with electrical rough-in work
- Installing fixtures, devices, and electrical components
- Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Learning to read blueprints and construction drawings
- Maintaining tools, materials, and a clean work area
- Following all safety requirements and jobsite procedures
- Supporting the successful completion of projects on schedule
Projects may include:
- Medical facilities
- Universities and schools
- Office buildings
- Retail centers
- Parking garages
- Commercial and industrial facilities
What We're Looking For
- 1-3 years of commercial electrical experience preferred
- Basic understanding of electrical construction practices
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Reliable transportation to Houston-area jobsites
- Ability to provide your own basic tools
- Ability to work safely in a construction environment
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
Physical Requirements
This position requires standing, walking, climbing ladders, lifting materials, working outdoors, and performing physical construction activities in various weather conditions and jobsite environments.
